WILD JOY

Yoga & Goat Hiking

2.9.-4.9.

Berggasthaus Gitschenen, Uri, Switzerland

a weekend in the Uri mountains with yoga & goat hiking exploring wild joy

Rewild your notion of joy - allow yourself to step out of “what you should behave like” and get inspired by goats to follow your individual path.

Why goats?

Goats are curious, sweet and funny. They learn quickly and they are very intelligent.

It is however not possible to tame them completely. They always remain a bit wild and stubborn. They do what they want. It is not possible to force goats - they have to want it by themselves. With a lot of love and with convincing arguments they can be motivated, and then they gladly do along a lot of things. To win the friendship and trust of such an animal is something magnificent.

Each of our goats are individuals with big character. They have very different voices and ways of dealing with different situations. I call them by their own names - Goats responds very well to that. No day is similar with them, and a smile is guaranteed. Long nerves are also sometimes required. Every day I learn something from them and about their group dynamics. At the same time, I also do learn something about myself. Animals are like mirrors for us humans. With a bad mood or with time pressure nothing works as planned.

Connection and friendship with animals is something special. To be with animals in the nature and in the mighty mountain scenery simply feels good. Along the way you form a team with animals. It calms you down and makes you forget the world around you. Goats put a smile on our face and in our heart.

Goats follows us free without leashes. The biggest motivation for them is the delicious food they find along the way; herbs, branches and perennials. Because goats are curious animals, they like diversity and are open to discover exciting new places and are always ready for an adventure. I only lead them on a leash when it is necessary for their safety. They can do that, but do not enjoy it. The beauty of hiking with goats is gaining their trust so they want to accompany us freely. Both people and animals enjoy the adventure together in nature.

If you're still asking, why goats? Why hiking with goats? Here is the answer summarized in a few key words:

Joy, adventure, team building, friendship and to experience nature uniquely.

Your wild guides

Sanna Laurén is originally from Finland and has lived in Switzerland since 2013. Before Switzerland, she was working 10 seasons as ski guide in Chamonix and 2 in Niseko, Japan. She has earlier travelled the world but is now happily stuck with animals in a small mountain village in Kanton Uri, where she lives with his partner, 7 goats, 2 roosters, 3 chickens and with tons of honeybees. Mountains and animals are her passion. Sanna speaks fluent English, German and of course Finnish.

Sanna did her mountain leader school with Swiss Mountain Guide association and graduated in January 2020 as an official Mountain Leader with a Swiss Federal Diploma of higher Education. She is also recognized as an UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Association) guide. She has also completed an additional training for T4 Alpine hikes. More information about Sanna, her goats and bees & honey you can find on her website www.honigberg.ch.

Selin Leuch is a certified yoga teacher, life coach & hypnotherapist. A sports enthusiast and outdoor lover, she also loves to spend a lot of time exploring the wilderness around.

After travelling the world and always trying to “find her place” in the outside, she realized that wherever she went, there she was. And although a new place would satisfy her temporarily, the same doubts and a sense of lack kept creeping in - until she started looking inward. Through yoga & coaching she started cleaning up her inner world, letting go of what didn’t serve her and embracing herself in her wildness and with all her potentials.

She now loves to accompany people to walk the path of living and embodying their version of a wild & free life through retreat & coaching experiences.

Relaxing Sleep & Good vibes

With the Qi Blanco® molecular QiHome® system, you and your cells are largely protected from e-smog. Such radiation, which is emitted by cell phones, WLAN and other electronic devices, prevents you and your body from being able to renew itself optimally. Especially during sleep, when the body switches to regeneration mode, it is important not to be disturbed by ion-breaking structures. With the technology of QiHome® you can be sure that these radiations can harm your cells less. Sleep relaxed, deep and sound - and wake up in the morning truly reborn.

The majority of the interior furnishings are also made of wood. Let the miraculous effect of the Swiss stone pine and the pure mountain air work on you - completely without harmful e-smog.
